Tian SMS is a product of Tian Afrik (“we”, “us”), an Accra-based technology company. Tian SMS provides messaging services to businesses in Ghana. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
What we collect
- Account data: name, email, mobile number, business name, billing details.
- Service data: contacts you upload, messages you send, delivery reports, API logs and usage statistics.
- Payment data: processed by our payment partner (Paystack). We never store full card or Mobile Money PINs.
- Technical data: IP address, browser, device, and cookies needed to keep you signed in and secure.
How we use it
- To deliver your messages to MTN, Telecel and AirtelTigo subscribers and report delivery back to you.
- To bill you, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with NCA and network requirements (including Sender ID registration).
- To support you and to improve the service. We do not sell personal data and we do not use your contacts for our own marketing.
Your contacts are your responsibility
You confirm that recipients have consented to receive your messages and you honour opt-out requests. Our platform helps with blacklists and STOP handling, but you remain the data controller for your contact lists.
Retention
Message content is retained for 90 days for delivery reporting and dispute resolution, then deleted. Billing records are kept as required by Ghanaian tax law. You can delete contacts at any time from your dashboard.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. API keys are hashed, access is logged and audited, and our staff only access customer data to resolve support requests.
Your rights
You may access, correct or delete your personal data, or object to processing, by emailing [email protected]. You may also complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.
Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies for login, cart and security, and anonymous analytics only with your consent via the cookie banner.
