Tian SMS exists to help legitimate Ghanaian businesses communicate. To protect recipients, the networks and every other sender’s reputation, the following is prohibited:
- Unsolicited marketing to people who have not opted in, or ignoring STOP / opt-out requests.
- Scams, “you have won” messages, phishing for MoMo PINs, OTPs or bank details.
- Impersonating banks, telcos, government bodies or any brand you do not own, including via Sender ID.
- Hate speech, harassment, threats, pornography, or content inciting violence or electoral misconduct.
- Illegal products or services, including unlicensed betting, drugs or counterfeit goods.
- Sending to numbers obtained by scraping, buying lists, or other means without consent.
- Attempting to bypass rate limits, security controls or billing.
Marketing messages should be sent between 8:00 and 20:00 and identify the sender with a contact method. Violations lead to suspension and may be reported to the NCA and law enforcement.
